My Story
As a recent graduate of the Indiana University Purdue University Museum Studies Program, I have a focus and interest in museum collections. Ever since I first visited the Smithsonian I knew I wanted to pursue this career. My background is having a Bachelor's in history with a minor in business. Through my various experiences with the museum collection, I am dedicated to creating an inclusive and informative environment. History is how we understand our past and without protecting our history it will be forgotten.
Mission
My mission is to provide the public with accurate information by telling a story through the artifacts. Expanding the public’s perception of popular or unfamiliar topics is important to my career. I am interested in collections management and preservation. Facilitating the care of objects and preserving history will allow the past to have a voice.
Vision
I will use my skills and experience to care for, preserve, and manage any collection size that I am a part of. The objects I will manage, and preserve will be used to tell an accurate story. Always will be aware of who’s story I am telling and why I am telling it.
Values
Communication – Being able to communicate properly with others is key when working with a team. It is vital to get projects done correctly and timely.
Attention to detail – When working closely with objects every detail matters. Bringing to life the history of the object properly will lead to explaining its existence.
Accessibility – I believe that museums should be a place where everyone is able to visit and learn.
